Railway Bulletin: May 2025

We have a new newsletter with updates related to railway modelling. As always, we’ll review the main industry news, both in H0 and N scales.

Let’s take a look!

May New Releases in H0 Scale

“AVLO” High-Speed Train by Electrotren

In July, the new AVLO trains from Electrotren are expected to arrive. These eye-catching high-speed trains will be one of the brand’s main releases for this year.

Based on the well-known “Pato” by Electrotren, this model comes with several improvements, including functional pantographs powered by servomotors (in digital versions).

The AVLO is offered in a five-piece set (two heads + three intermediate cars) in analogue, digital, and digital with sound versions (ref. HE2031/D/S). Three additional coach sets will also be available to complete the composition (HE3001, HE3002, and HE3003).

A330 “Séneca” Inspection Train by Electrotren

Alongside the AVLO, Electrotren will release the “Séneca,” ADIF’s high-speed line inspection train.

This striking model also features motorised pantographs and will be available in analogue, digital, and sound versions (ref. HE2030/D/S).

Sudexpress 1400 Locomotives

After a period of waiting since the reissue of the Portuguese 1400 series locomotives was announced, it seems their market launch is approaching.

This time, Sudexpress will manufacture up to seven new references that include the most representative liveries of these iconic locomotives. They feature updated electronics and interesting improvements.

You can already reserve them in our store, although their release will still take a few weeks.

PR Tank Wagon Set by Electrotren

As for freight wagons, the new versions of the PR two-axle tank wagons from RENFE, manufactured by Electrotren, are already available.

There are three new decorations: one from the company Saltra (ref. HE6070) and two from Butano S.A. (ref. HE6072 and HE6073).

Portuguese Wagons by Sudexpress

Sudexpress has just released a new batch of freight wagons, perfect for completing train compositions.

The Sgmms platform wagons for container transport, both loaded and unloaded versions, include a total of 10 new references.

Alongside these, two new Ealos wagons from the Medway company have arrived, in their characteristic black livery.

In the coming weeks, two new versions of RENFE’s MMC3 container wagons will also be available.

This time, they come in oxide red and include one Renfe container (ref. HE6065) and another from Transporte Combinado (ref. HE6080). Excellent wagons to complete freight train compositions.

Electrotren 5000 Coaches

In June, two new sets of 5000 series coaches are also expected. This time they are gangwayed coaches from Era IV.

They are presented in sets of two coaches. One includes two second-class coaches (ref. HE4038), and the other a café coach with a van (ref. HE4037).

May New Releases in N Scale

New “Japonesa” 269 by Arnold

In N scale, two new versions of RENFE’s 269 locomotives, manufactured by Arnold, have been available for a couple of weeks.

“IRYO” High-Speed Train by Arnold

One of the biggest releases of the year for N scale fans is coming!

The “Iryo” high-speed train is expected to arrive in stores in July. Although it has only recently begun operating in Spain, it’s already a symbol of Spanish high-speed rail.

This model will be sold in a four-car set (two power cars and two intermediate cars) and will be available in analogue, digital, and digital with sound (ref. HN2622/D/S). Additionally, the train can be completed with a four-car intermediate set (ref. HN3515).

Modelismo 2.0 News

To end the newsletter, we remind you that our modelling course platform continues to work on new content.

Each week, two new videos are published, strongly focused on railway modelling, being the only online academy for Spanish-speaking modellers.

Recently published courses include:

– Roco turnouts: installation, wiring, motorisation, and polarity configuration for different ranges.

– Glues and joints: Everything you need to fully understand the characteristics and uses of the most common adhesives in modelling.

– Tunnel construction: A new course in which we go step by step through the complete construction and integration process of railway tunnels.

– Train fact sheets: About the 7200/7500 by Electrotren and the 252 by Arnold.
